Practice, improve, sound better

The idea

This application aims to support students' practice —and teachers' instruction and follow-up work— through a modular system of exercises for different instruments or instrument families, where students have multimedia support and an easy way to log their difficulties and progress. Each practice session is built flexibly, based on the weight given to each category of exercises, and automatically adapts to the time available. While practicing, students get support for pacing the time spent on each activity, an optional metronome, the option to view previous performances, record sample clips, and jot down their own notes. On the teachers' side, it lets them prepare and supervise their students' practices, create their own exercises by adding resources such as audio, video, or sheet music, and track progress by comparing practices over time.

Main features

Modular exercise system

Organized by instrument or instrument family, to match what each student plays.

Flexible session building

Based on the weight you give each category of exercises, with automatic adjustment to the time available.

In-practice support

Tools available while the student practices:

Time pacing

Spend as much time as you need on each activity, and know when the time is up.

Optional metronome

Available for anyone who wants to use it as a reference.

Previous performances

Review your previous attempts without leaving the practice session — see what you found you need to improve, what speed you were able to reach, listen to clips of your previous performances, and so on.

Clips and notes

Record sample clips and jot down your own notes during practice, so your teacher can see them and so you can keep them in mind in future sessions.

Teacher preparation and supervision

Teachers build and supervise their students' practices. They can prepare practice sessions with exercises suggested by the program, or create their own activities and upload their own material.

Exercises with multimedia resources

Teachers can include audio (e.g. performance models), video, sheet music, images, and more in their exercises.

Progress tracking

By comparing practices over time.
